Non-Surgical Treatments | Vacuum Erection Devices or Pump

A vacuum erection device or pump mechanically enhances the flow of blood into the penis. A plastic cylinder is placed over the penis, and an external penile pump (either manual or battery operated) creates vacuum suction within the cylinder, drawing blood into the penis to create an erection. A stretchable tension band is then placed at the base of the penis to maintain the erection long enough to have sex (up to 30 minutes).28

How it works28

The vacuum erection device or pump system consists of a hollow plastic tube or cylinder which is placed over the penis. The pump which is either manually by hand or battery operated is used to create a vacuum. As air is pumped out of the cylinder, the pressure build-up helps to draw blood into the penis, causing the penis to enlarge. Once an erection is achieved, an elastic tension ring is placed at the base of the penis to help maintain the erection.
